Ilene Siringo, O.D., is a 2000 graduate of the State University of New York, State College of Optometry. In 1996, she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in the Biological Basis of Behavior from the University of Pennsylvania. While an undergraduate, Dr. Siringo participated in basic science research to combat HIV. She raised money to fight the same by performing a piano recital, and participating in the AIDS ride from Philadelphia to Washington, D.C.
Dr. Siringo has extensive experience in the fields of contact lens care and pre-and post-operative management of refractive surgery. From 2002-2003, she held a staff position at Darnall Army Community Hospital, in the Department of Ophthalmology, as the sole optometrist co-managing thousands of soldiers undergoing LASIK and PRK. She has held numerous private practice positions, concentrating in primary eye care and contact lens fitting, both in New York City and Central Texas.
Dr. Siringo has participated in an eye care mission through the Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity in Nicaragua. She is an avid chef, and also enjoys running, bicycling, travel, and knitting. Dr. Siringo has a 4 year old son, with Dr. Frank Siringo, whom she met while at a hospital rotation in West Point, NY in 1999, and married in 2001.

Top of PageFrank Siringo, O.D., is a 2001 graduate of the State University of New York State College of Optometry, where he was the recipient of a U.S. Health Professions Scholarship, and was subsequently named alumnus of the year in 2004. In 1996, he received a Bachelor of Arts in History from the State University of New York College at Geneseo. One year of his undergraduate career was spent in Siena, Italy, studying art history and the Italian language.
Dr. Siringo served as an active duty optometrist (Captain) in the U.S. Army from June 2001 through July 2004, with two hospital staff appointments while stationed at Ft. Hood, TX. While on staff, he supervised physician assistant students and optometry students who rotated through the clinic, and delivered continuing education lectures on ocular disease to military optometrists.
For two years Dr. Siringo served as chief of optometry for the Fourth Infantry Division, and in April 2003, he deployed to Iraq. For one year Dr. Siringo led an optometry clinic in Tikrit, as part of the Fourth Infantry's 704th Division Support Battalion. The four-soldier team provided routine and emergency eye care, along with glasses fabrication, for thousands of soldiers in Task Force Iron Horse.
Other interests include the Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity, (through which Dr. Siringo has participated in three one-week missions to Nicaragua), running, bicycling, and travel.
Dr. Siringo recently recieved his medical degree at New York University School of Medicine, en route to further training in ophthalmology this year at Columbia University. He and Dr. Ilene Siringo were married in 2001, and have a 4 year old son.

Top of PageMira Lee, O.D., is a 2005 graduate of the State University of New York, State College of Optometry. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania in 1996. As an undergraduate, Dr. Lee volunteered at the Esperanza Health Center as a medical assistant serving the under-privileged community of North Philadelphia. She also participated in volunteer work at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Lee did one of her externship rotations in the Contact Lens Department of SUNY College of Optometry, where she had extensive experience fitting keratoconus patients and toric contact lens wearers. She has also had experience in primary care, ocular disease, pediatrics, low vision, and vision therapy through her externship rotations.
Dr. Lee has participated in several eye care missions to Oaxaca, Mexico with the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists, a group she was actively involved with while at school. She currently resides in Manhattan with her husband, Nathan. She has recently given birth to twins, a boy and a girl.
