Ocular health assessment: Through a dilated pupil, we thoroughly examine the inside of the eye to detect the presence of problems like cataracts, vitreous detachments, retinal tears/detachments, diabetic or hypertensive eye disease, macular degeneration, and optic nerve disease such as glaucoma. After the dilated examination, seeing up close will be difficult for a few hours, and light sensitivity will be increased. Please plan on NOT driving a car in the first hour after your exam.
